GGBS

GGBS

Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag is used as a mineral admixture for Portland cement concrete. Granulated blast furnace slag is also used in the manufacture of blended hydraulic cements and the cement thus produced is known as “Portland Blast Furnace Slag Cement”.

* Usage: Slag cement is used in virtually all concrete applications such as: Structures and foundations, off shore and marine structures, mass concrete applications, such as dams, flyovers, bridges, pre-cast components and pre-stressed concrete, concrete exposed to harsh environments, such as wastewater treatment and marine applications and high-performance/ high-strength concrete such as high-rise structures.

* Quality: The use of GGBS with concrete work gives additional workability in mix of concrete. It gives Adequate initial strength, high compressive strength, low heat of hydration, resistance to chloride, sulphate attacks & aggressive chemical environment, corrosion resistance to reinforcement, higher volume stability and low alkali aggregate reactivity.

* Specifications: Our GGBS are tested according to BS EN 15167-1: 2006 (formerly known as BS-6699) and also comply with ASTM C989-06 Grade 120.
